Loving the League!

Well we’re smack bang in the middle of the National Leagues and so far it’s been a very entertaining one.  The hurling league continues to be very competitive and so far the All Ireland champions are looking fantastic even at this early stage.  Being a football girl though I don’t know enough about hurling to comment any furthe.  However, here’s a photo of the Limerick Hurlers anyway 🙂

Over in the football championship the All Ireland Champions Dublin have had an iffy enough start to the campaign.  A loss up in Monaghan, a win v Galway and a 1 point loss to Kerry that could have gone eitherway.  Not since 2015 have Dublin lost 2 of their 3 opening matches.  And still they ended up league and all ireland champions that year. This Saturday sees them take on Mayo.  Since Mayo beat them in the semi final in 2012, Dublin have gone on to either win or draw with them ever since.  Mayo have had a stormer of a start to the league and seem to have found a heap of new players who may be able to help them finally get over the line this year.  Sitting top of the league on 6 points they are pretty much safe barring some crazy result permeatations.  Same goes for Kerry.  However, a Dublin defeat could see them in a relegation battle for the first time in what seems like forever. Will they care if they win Sam for the 5th time in a row?

Be back next week to discuss all of this weekend results!  How will YOUR county do?
